New Product Launch — Nezha Expansion & Intelligent Motor

In 2020, ELECFREAKS partnered with Lenovo to meticulously develop the Nezha.  Nezha represents more than just hardware devices, it is a seed deeply planted in our vision for the future of education.

Nezha, the heroic figure from ancient Chinese mythology, who has three heads and six arms, has transcended the boundaries of time and space to become a symbol of courage, wisdom, and strength. We have imbued this symbolic meaning into the design of our Nezha expansion box, we hope it can be like Nezha, with powerful abilities, adding infinite possibilities to children’s learning and creation.
 
Over the past four years, we have closely examined education needs and developed a wide range of kits based on the Nezha, suitable for elementary and high school students. Since 2021, Nezha expansion box has been actively used in competitions endorsed by the Ministry of Education’s whitelist. From young children to curious teens eager to explore technology, the Nezha series product, with its comprehensive kits and well-rounded curriculum, has transcended age barriers to become a trusted companion in the learning and growth of countless students.
 
Looking back on this journey, we are filled with pride and gratitude. To date, we have sold over 100,000 units of Nezha worldwide, opening the door to the world of technology for countless children.

 
In 2024, as we stand at a new starting point, we are introducing the fully optimized Nezha V2. This next-generation version not only inherits the excellent qualities of its predecessor but also brings significant upgrades in functionality, performance, and user experience. Nezha V2 is designed to prepare students for the 2025 competitions while providing an even richer, more efficient, and convenient learning experience for students and education enthusiasts.

Nezha V2 Overview

1. Ready to Use Out of the Box  

Nezha V2 is specially designed to operate without micro: bit, allowing users to control the motor's forward and reverse rotation with simple AB button presses. This feature enables beginners and younger users to easily get started and enjoy the fun of working with smart hardware.

2. Supports Closed-Loop Motors for Precision Control

Nezha V2 supports closed-loop motors, enabling more precise position control and speed adjustment through its feedback system. This improves the system’s overall stability and reliability, making it ideal for precise tasks such as robotic arm manipulation and complex motion simulations.

3. Faster Charging, Longer Battery Life

With an enhanced battery capacity and improved charging efficiency, Nezha V2 ensures a worry-free, extended usage experience. The charging port adopts the widely compatible Type-C standard, supporting reversible plugging for more convenient and efficient charging. Additionally, the power switch has been upgraded to a physical toggle switch, making it easier to use and more durable, while the power indicator has been expanded from 1 LED to 4, providing a clearer view of the remaining battery life and preventing unexpected power loss during teaching or competition.

4. Color Recognition System and RJ11 Interface  

Nezha V2 inherits the well-regarded color recognition system and RJ11 interface from V1, with further improvements in accuracy and ease of use. Building on V1’s foundation, Nezha V2’s IIC interface, IO sensor interface, and motor interface are all equipped with a unified color labeling system and foolproof, reverse-plug-protected RJ11 connectors, significantly reducing the complexity of student operations and enhancing classroom efficiency.

5. Fully Compatible with LEGO and Fischertechnik

Nezha V2 maintains its full compatibility with the two major building block systems, LEGO and Fischertechnik, greatly expanding the creative possibilities for students. This compatibility allows users to connect building block kits on expansion boards to realize unlimited creative ideas.

6. Upgraded Programming Library

The Nezha V2 programming library has undergone a comprehensive upgrade, offering richer and easy-to-understand block commands. Whether for beginners or makers quick mastery of programming concepts, makes it accessible to all skill levels.

Introduction to Smart Motors

The Smart Motor is an integrated product combining the functions of a servo and a motor. It features high repeatable positioning accuracy, powerful stall torque, fast response, and low power consumption, offering a richer experience for users who seek ultimate control and creative building fun. With built-in protections such as stall prevention, temperature protection, and voltage protection, it ensures safe operation and extends its lifespan. The upgraded RJ11 foolproof interface and compatibility with LEGO structural components make assembly more convenient and efficient.

 
Currently, we have developed the micro: bit Space Innovation Kit centered around the Nezha V2 smart motor. In the future, we will continue to develop more diverse and creative kit series based on the Nezha V2. Additionally, the ELECFREAKS Explore Future competition team is fully committed to preparing for the Ministry of Education's whitelist competition in 2025.
