Robot Mission Competition Highlights

The annual finals of the Future City Challenge Robot Mission Competition, designed by ELECFREAKS, took place at the University Town Sports Center in Nanshan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, from December 13 to 15, 2024. This competition has been included in the Chinese Ministry of Education's whitelist competition, the World Robot Contest, for three years in a row.

During the competition, which was held over several days and was very intense, the participants had to design and build vehicles and conveyor belts to transport resources. They had to use some very innovative methods to do this, such as brain-controlled projection and vehicle-based resource transport. They had to complete resource delivery tasks and strategically launch resources to stations to gain an advantage. This competition format tested participants' technological innovation and teamwork skills. It also sparked their spirit of exploration and passion for competition through its engaging and adversarial nature.

Since it started in 2022, the Future City Challenge has become more and more popular. Lots of schools and educational institutions are taking part. The competition is becoming more organized and the rules are getting better. This means the participants can learn from each other and get better at their skills.

In the 2024 competition, thousands of contestants rose to the challenge, progressing through city-level, provincial, and regional championships to ultimately gather on the grand stage of the finals. They delved deeply into the mechanical design of robots, meticulously developed resource transport vehicles, and intelligent conveyors, and continuously fine-tuned their programming to enhance responsiveness and accuracy. They aimed to complete tasks with precision and efficiency during the intelligent transfer and automated transport phases.

The 2024 World Robot Contest Grand Finals will be held from January 16 to January 21, 2025, in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. This will be a grand technological feast showcasing three years of accumulated wisdom and effort and the ultimate test of all participating teams' technical strength and teamwork capabilities. The teams will embark on their journey once again, armed with the experience and technological advancements gained over the past year, and will strive with all their might to be crowned champions.
